Improved Construction

Our standard engineered construction is 21 mm thick with 6 mm face or top layer or 14 mm thick with full 4 mm face or top layer.

A balanced construction for optimal stability guarantee performance in a wide variety of climatic conditions

The engineered hardwood is less susceptible to the effects of moisture and temperature change than solid timber floors.

Our proven construction with plywood or lumber core will guarantee stability.

Face thickness comparison

With 100% to 200% thicker face layer than traditional engineered floors, the Mandara range will last a true lifetime in the most enduring conditions. An ideal choice for projects and commercial applications.

The Advantages Of Mandara Engineered Construction

Photos of comparison between Mandara engineered, traditional solid and common engineered timber floors
  • Mandara has the same face thickness as traditional solid timber floors, therefore it can be re-sanded as many times as a solid timber floor.
  • With thicker face than common engineered floors, Mandara has more application possibilities, therefore very suitable for enduring conditions in project and commercial applications.
  • Mandara hardwood floors with engineered construction are more stable than solid construction. Seasonal gapping and peaking will virtually not occur.
  • The engineered construction allows Mandara hardwood floors to be glued directly to concrete above or below grade.
  • We use only first class components such as glue from Akzo Nobel (JAS I), WPB type 1 ply. Those are extra built-in securities to guarantee performance.

Variations In Timber

Timber is a natural material and variation in colour, texture and other naturally occurring features occur (ie: gum vein) between pieces and batches of the same species. Sanding and finishing also causes variations in appearance.

Care should be taken in making a selection based on a single sample. In all cases, timber flooring supplied in job lot quantities will contain some variation from job to job and from the samples on display.

Timber flooring, whilst dried during production, continues to take up and give up moisture during its life, depending on environment, aspect and local conditions. In doing so, movement and changes to the surface of your floor are to be expected and will be apparent. This is normal and may include checking and fine cracks on and between boards and some changes in colour.
